Recycling Depot
The Recycling Depot located at 1600 River Road is open from 7:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The depot is closed Monday through Thursday. Residents may bring white goods such as stoves, water heaters, air conditioners, refrigerators, electronics, washers and dryers to the Recycling Depot during its normal business hours. There is a designated drop off area for the white goods. This offer is not open to businesses.
Composting/Firewood The DPW stores wood chips at the Greenhouse located at the foot of Lindbergh Boulevard, east of Glenwood Ave. Fire wood is stored at the recycling depot in the DPW yard on the west side of River Road, just north of West Englewood Ave. Whenever available, firewood and wood chips are free for the taking. In all cases, the rule is first come, first served.

Batteries
The Recycling Depot accepts vehicle batteries only. This material is not picked up curbside. For all other types of battery disposal, please refer to www.bcua.org.
White Goods / Appliance Pick Up
Public Works offers “white goods” pick-up curbside on Fridays by appointment. White goods such as washing machines, clothes dryers, and water heaters can be dropped off or picked up at no cost. Items containing Freon such as refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, and water coolers will require a $20.00 fee per unit to cover the cost of removal and disposal. Electronics
Computers, laptops, servers, monitors, TV’s, cell phones, telecom equipment, UPS battery back up unit batteries, laptop batteries, printers, scanners, fax machines, keyboards, mice, cable, wires, hard drives, audio equipment, microwave ovens are accepted at the Recycling Depot. Items such as TVs or radios in large wooden cabinets are not accepted.
Used Motor Oil
Residents are permitted to bring used motor oil to the recycling depot during normal hours of operation. The used oil cannot be mixed with any other fluid such as antifreeze.
