Guidance Regarding Marriage Licenses

Application Process:

1. Appointments must be scheduled, minimum 30 days in advance. NO walk ins are accepted. 

2. To schedule an appointment - call the office at 201-837-1600 x 1275

3. Completed applications are required to be submitted via email (registrar@teanecknj.gov) prior to your appointment. 

4. A valid state or federal issued ID is required e.g. driver's license or passport, with proof of residency. 

5. The marriage application fee is $28.00 - cash or money order only. 

Other requirements regarding Marriage License applications still apply:

° One witness over the age of 18 must accompany the applicants, need to have valid ID. 

° At least one of the applicants must provide proof of residence in Teaneck unless both applicants are out-of-state residents. 

° Out-of-state couples can only apply in the municipality where their ceremony is taking place. 

° Applicants who require a translator must be accompanied by a witness who can translate during the appointment, please plan accordingly. 

° Arrangements for the ceremony must be made independently. 

° Appointments are available Monday through Friday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, with later appointments on Tuesday until 5:30 pm
